Booking Terms


Photography is about capturing real moments in a relaxed and enjoyable way. But having a few clear guidelines in place helps everything run smoothly for both of us. These terms & conditions cover all standard portrait and lifestyle sessions booked with EmmaLaneCaptures, including couples, families, maternity, newborn, portraits, branding and milestone sessions.


Wedding bookings are additionally covered by a separate detailed contract provided upon booking.


By booking a session with me, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the terms below.


Booking & Payment


  • Booking fees secure your session date and cover the time reserved for your booking. As dates as limited, booking fees are generally non-refundable. However, I understand that unexpected situations can arise, and any requests will always be considered fairly and compassionately on a case-by-case basis.
  • The remaining balance is due on the day of the session.
  • Prices are subject to change at any time, however confirmed bookings will always be honoured at the agreed price.


Rescheduling & Cancellations


  • If you do need to reschedule your session, please provide as much notice as possible.
  • Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled due to unsafe or unsuitable weather conditions. A new date will always be offered.
  • In the event of illness, emergencies or circumstances beyond control, both client and photographer reserve the right to reschedule the session.


Session Experience & Cooperation


  • My approach to photography is relaxed, natural and storytelling-focused. Rather than heavily posed images, I aim to capture genuine connection, emotion and real moments as they naturally unfold.
  • Clients are responsible for ensuring all participants are prepared for the session.
  • Children are wonderfully unpredictable, and sessions are always approached with patience and flexibility. However, final gallery results are dependent on participants during the session.
  • The photographer cannot be held responsible for missed images due to lateness, lack of cooperation or restrictions beyond their control.


Image Style & Editing


  • By booking with me, you acknowledge that you are familiar with my portfolio and editing style, and trust me to create images consistent with my work.
  • Images are edited in my signature style and will not be heavily altered or re-edited to suit different editing preferences. The editing process includes basic colour correction, straightening, copping, light blemish removal etc.
  • RAW/unedited images are not provided under any circumstances.
  • Final image selection and editing decisions remain at the discretion of the photographer.


Turnaround Times


  • Gallery delivery times vary depending on season and workload, however I always aim to deliver your final gallery within 2 weeks.
  • Sneak peeks may be shared sooner at the photographer’s discretion.
  • During particularly busy periods, delivery times may occasionally be extended. Clients will always be informed if this is the case.


Digital Files & Printing


  • Final images are delivered via online gallery for digital download.
  • Clients are responsible for downloading and safely backing up their images once received.
  • While every effort is made to ensure accurate colours and quality, the photographer cannot guarantee print quality from third-party printing labs not personally recommended.


Copyright & Usage


  • All images remain the copyright of EmmaLaneCaptures.
  • Clients are welcome to share their images online for personal use, however images must not be altered, heavily cropped, filtered or edited in any way.
  • Commercial use, publication or reproduction of images is not permitted without prior written consent from the photographer.
  • Where possible, credit is always appreciated when sharing images online.


Model Release & Social Media


  • Photographs may be used by the photographer for portfolio, website, social media and promotional purposes unless otherwise requested in writing prior to the session.
  • I completely understand and respect privacy preferences, and clients are always welcome to discuss this before their shoot.


Liability


  • In the unlikely event of technical failure, accident, illness or circumstances beyond control, liability is limited to the return of any payments made.
  • Every reasonable care is taken to ensure the safety of equipment, backup procedures and image storage, however the photographer cannot guarantee against unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.
